Trailer Battery Charging Options

Gray & Adams can offer two methods of charging trailer batteries.

Solar Panels fitted to Roof

Solar panels can be fitted to any Gray & Adams product that uses batteries, for example, lifting deck or tail lift.

Solar panels provide trickle-charge to batteries.  They use a photovoltaic technology which converts sunlight directly into electricity.  The power output provided by solar panels are limited, however, they are extremely robust and can withstand all types of weather conditions.  The solar panel charging system has added environmental benefits, resulting from the use of a natural power source.  Fuel consumption will be reduced as the vehicle's engine can be switched off for a certain length of time when loading and unloading.

Fridge Charging Facility

Gray & Adams is the only UK trailer manufacturer to offer onboard batteries with a fridge charging system.  A fridge charging system can output significantly more power than a solar panel system.  This means that, if the operator exhausts the batteries entirely, there is a much higher chance of recovering power with this type of faciity than with solar panels.

With either charging system, the main benefit would be fewer callouts for flat batteries.
