Gray & Adams Fraserburgh is the company headquarters. At this location, the brains of the entire Gray & Adams operation are contained, from the technical design team to the manufacture of all components used throughout the assembly process for distribution to the rest of the group. As well as housing the main panel manufacturing and chassis fabrication facilities, G&A Fraserburgh also undertakes a large proportion of the company's trailer manufacturing, in particular, the majority of double deck production is carried out at Fraserburgh.

The Gray & Adams headquarters now sits on an impressive site and is the largest male employer in the Fraserburgh region.

The purchase of technically advanced CNC machinery from leading European suppliers for panel production and bodywork assembly, means that Gray & Adams have the most modern panel production facility in the UK.

The most recent investments in the Fraserburgh site were the replacement of the original car body repair shop to cater for commercial bodywork repairs and the addition of a £1.5 million purpose-built after sales and repair facility to cater for a far broader range of services. Included in the fit-out is a modern paint shop, a ‘rolling road' brake testing facility, laser alignment equipment and a state-of-the-art Josam chassis straightening jig.

Gray & Adams (Dunfermline) Ltd. specialises in the manufacture of insulated and refrigerated truck mounted bodies in single and multiple-temperature configurations, ranging from 3.5 to 26 tonne GVW.

The Dunfermline site has been commited to continuous improvements in quality systems, production capabilities, process development, people and equipment over time, resulting in a world class manufacturing and support facility. The depot currently has accreditation to ISO 9001 qualilty management, ISO 14001 environmental management and OHSAS 18001 health and safety management standards. These are all controlled via an integrated management system which is certified to BSI's PAS 99 standard.

G&A Dunfermline has a particular expertise in the manufacture of extremely complex laned and multi-compartment vehicle bodies. These are designed to such exact specifications that, in some cases, there might only be two or three millimetres of flexibility within each lane. This proves the attention to detail and high precision of Dunfermline's engineering capabilities.

Although Gray & Adams has recently begun an export programme, the Dunfermline business has been manufacturing highly bespoke vehicles for the Dutch and Belgian markets since 2006 and is therefore experienced and well placed to offer the European market a quality product to rival any European alternative.

As well as manufacturing a full range of standard and specialist temperature-controlled bodywork for customers throughout Ireland, Gray & Adams (Ireland) Ltd. has also developed a number of genuine special-builds. G&A Ireland has superior skills in the design of unique insulated curtain and sliding side vehicles and trailers. These market-leading specifications, which give operators all round access into the vehicles, are suitable for most heavy duty single temperature applications and have been particularly popular with the dairy industry right across the UK.

The Irish team has also developed a particular expertise in the production of highly specified custodial vehicles for the safe and secure transportation of persons in custody. The company has succeeded in becoming a preferred supplier to this most demanding sector.

Due to demand from the Northern Irish market, this depot, situated in Newtownabbey, Co. Antrim, has developed a dedicated after sales facility which caters for an extensive range of support services, including repair and refurbishment work and full servicing and maintenance of trailer running gear and ancillary equipment, such as tail lifts and door systems. Gray & Adams Ireland has recently invested in a CNC guillotine and brake press and a modern stand-alone paint shop. The paint shop was erected initially to comply with health and safety regulations but it has a secondary benefit of improved turnaround times on jobs.

Gray & Adams (Doncaster) Ltd. was traditionally focused on the manufacture of insulated vehicle bodies for standard and specialist applications but over the years an increasing amount of trailer bodywork has been undertaken.

Specialist equipment manufactured by G&A Doncaster include highly specified chick carrying vehicles as well as suppling lightweight 3.5 tonne bodies and panel van conversions for refrigerated applications.

Since commencing operations, G&A Doncaster has built up a strong reputation amongst customers for both the build quality of its new bodies and trailers and for the superiority of the repair and refurbishment work which it carries out. To further support customers, the workshops at Doncaster now operate on a 24-hour basis.

The site underwent a substantial 14 bay extension in 1994 alongside the main production facility to accommodate semi-trailers up to 18m long and which provides additional capacity for new build production and after sales support services. This site also houses modern ICI approved paint facilities.

Gray & Adams (Bedford) Ltd. is the newest addition to the Gray & Adams group.  In July 2010, Gray & Adams Ltd., announced the take-over of Brycol Ltd., a commercial vehicle repair facility based in Wilstead Industrial Park, Bedford.

The facility specialises in the repair and refurbishment of commercial vehicles of all makes and types. Based in the south east of England, it is very well placed to supplement existing Gray & Adams sites and to enhance the service and support given to the company's increasing customer base.
