Manufacturing Capability
Gray & Adams Manufacturing Sites
Whilst Gray & Adams Dunfermline, Ireland and Doncaster are undoubtedly becoming increasingly self-sufficient, the technical expertise and financial strength of the parent company in Fraserburgh has played a major role in their respective successes.
Traditionally, Fraserburgh was the dedicated trailer design and manufacturing facility, while the other three depots specialised in bespoke insulated rigid bodywork, however, changes in market demands and trends have dictated that all depots become more multi-skilled and now each depot has a more diverse range of expertise.
The Gray & Adams Manufacturing Ethos
Our trailers and bodies have an industry-wide reputation for superior quality and lifecycle efficiency. By offering the highest quality product, we ensure a long operational life with high reliability and low maintenance. As well as this, Gray & Adams differs from others in the market as we offer a truly bespoke product. We do not simply offer a ‘one-specification fits all' product, instead we specialise in tailoring every trailer or body to precise customer requirements to ensure that the most appropriate and efficient vehicles are designed for each individual customer's operation.
Superior Manufacturing Capability
To maintain a market leading position, the company has continued to invest significantly in facilities, processes, equipment and people at all four manufacturing locations.
This sustained investment is pivotal to Gray & Adams ability to offer premium products and quality support services. The latest automated manufacturing processes combined with the skills of a highly trained and established workforce enables us to offer the most competitive delivery lead times on single vehicles or high volume orders.
A total of around £25 million has been invested throughout the group over the past ten years and a substantial proportion of this investment was in the Fraserburgh manufacturing facility. This included the purchase of technologically advanced CNC machinery from leading European suppliers for panel production and bodywork assembly. The introduction of this equipment means that the Gray & Adams headquarters now boast the most modern panel production facility in the UK. All machinery is bespoke, having been specially designed to meet the exact requirements of Gray & Adams' production processes.
Our ability to produce bespoke vehicles economically is founded upon a superior manufacturing system, the exclusive use of quality materials, advanced engineering skills and flexible working practices.
