18 Tonne Mobile Butcher Shop A J Lay Meats

This mobile butchers shop is a purpose built Gray & Adams insulated box body based on an 18 tonne rigid vehicle. The body is split into two compartments. The front is used for transporting and storing frozen meat at a controlled temperature and incorporates double side-opening doors for loading and accessing the freezer compartment. Refrigeration in the front section is provided by a Thermoking direct drive unit and has single-phase electric standby.

The rear compartment, which forms the shop, has a full opening side for displaying goods. The hinged lower section of the side forms a shelf for customer use. Meat is displayed in glass cabinets that are fixed within the vehicle. Access to the sales area of the vehicle is via triple rear doors that can be fully secured to prevent unauthorised access to either cash or produce in the vehicle.

The body is divided using a fixed bulkhead complete with a personnel door for access between the freezer and the shop areas. The polyester floor provides an anti-slip surface and GRP walls offer a hygienic finish to meet full environmental health regulations. Additional equipment fitted includes double stainless steel sinks for washing, a large capacity water tank and nylon chopping boards.
