REAR DOOR OPTIONS:

-
Treble doors
-
-
Insulated roller shutter
Double and treble rear doors can come with a safety release so that operators do not get locked inside. This is obviously particularly important for frozen application vehicles.
Four door hinges come as standard and rear doors can incorporate a single or double locking system.
Protection wedges for roller doors prevent damage to the door track when cages are being used.
SIDE DOOR OPTIONS:

-
Single door
-
Double doors
-
Series of sliding doors
-
Curtain side alternative
Single Side Doors: Single doors are typically pallet-width or less.
Double Side Doors: These are offered when a larger than normal aperture is required to prevent having to open one large door onto curbsides and to cut down the effect of being caught by strong winds.
Sliding Side Configurations: Gray & Adams offer trailers and bodies which allow all round access to the load area via a series of fully insulated sliding side doors, which run down the whole length of the vehicle or trailer on both sides.
Curtain Side Configurations: Gray & Adams offer a product that incorporates heavy-duty curtains instead of solid side panels.

Trombone door retainers are fitted as standard to all rear and side opening doors. They are a safety feature as they secure the doors in the open position. In addition, protection plates are fitted to side walls to prevent panel damage should a door open against it.
INTERNAL TWO-TEMPERATURE BULKHEAD DOOR OPTIONS:
Insulated bulkheads allow a refrigerated operator to carry two or more different products at different temperatures within the same trailer or vehicle body. Gray & Adams use bulkheads that can be:
The Gray & Adams Variable Stow Bulkhead is made of solid 3 element sandwich panel, with GRP kemlite armour tough skins and offers a permanent, fixed solution. The system is gas ram assisted and is designed to be lifted manually with one single action. Because the bulkhead runs on a trolley which uses heavy duty rollers running on an aluminium loadlok track, it can be stowed at any point along the trailer or body. A choice of seals is available to suit loading requirements. A personnel door for easy access between compartments can also be incorporated into this design. Variable stow bulkheads have the added advantage of being extremely low mainenance.

The Gray & Adams Mattress Bulkhead: Weighing less than 25kg (55lbs) for a full width bulkhead, this type is the lightest of all bulkhead options currently on the market in the UK. The use of closed-cell polyethylene foam offers excellent flexibility and the foam used in this product will not absorb water, even when punctured. The superior structural strength of the materials used means that the door will not sag or bow over time. All seals are heat-welded to prevent ingress of moisture or bacteria.
Mattress type doors can be specified with or without gas ram assistance and we can manufacture them to suit every operation. These bulkheads can be offered with wings, which break the contact with the trailer / body sidewall when opened to make the door easier to open and slide along the body. Mattress bulkheads can be removable and they can be full width, split into two separate doors for a 50/50 split or they can be constructed for use with one-third or two-third lane operations. Split bulkheads can be used with longitudinal dividing spines or can be used for access between compartments, meaning that the operator does not have to lift the full weight of the bulkhead at any time.
Mattress Bulkhead Wear Strip: An armourply wear strip along the bottom of the door prolongs the life of a Mattress type bulkhead as it prevents damage being caused when the door is being pulled along the floor. The carbon-fibre material used is lightweight and safe for use with food operations. The wear strip wraps around the underside of the door and covers 300mm of the door on each side, offering much better wear characteristics than PVC that other suppliers use.
The Gray & Adams Partition System: This very unique internal door system is exclusive to Gray & Adams. This system differs from other internal doors because it offers a much broader range of options for dividing the body. The doors can be used to divide the body in the same way that a standard two temperature door can, however, because of the 'zig-zag' movement and the treble-fold mechanism of this system, at least 18 different configurations are possible.
