Repairs Administrator

Ireland

39 hours per week Monday – Thursday 08:30 – 17:00; Friday 08:30 – 16:00
Salary: £16.5k – £18.5k
Location: Co Antrim, Newtownabbey

Established over 60 years ago, Gray & Adams is a market leader in the manufacture and supply of commercial trailers and refrigerated storage solutions, with a global export market. Currently employing over 700 people across five locations they are currently looking to recruit an ambitious, motivated and dedicated Repairs Administrator to work in their highly successful depot in Newtownabbey.

The Job
The main responsibilities of this position will include:
Dealing with administration duties for the repairs department including
– scheduling of trailer/vehicle servicing & PSV applications
– sales invoicing and quotation processing, requesting purchase order numbers from customers
– dealing with customers leaving trailers/ vehicles in for repairs/service
– processing reports for our Time Management System
Providing administrative assistance to the repairs department
Answering calls, taking messages and dealing with any customer/ supplier queries on behalf of the repairs department.
The Person

Essential Criteria:
The successful applicant must:
Be computer literate with proven experience of Microsoft Office
Have at least 1-year experience in dealing with customers both face to face and on the telephone.

Desirable Criteria:
Preference may be given to those applicants who have:
An IT qualification (GCSE or equivalent)
Relevant industry experience i.e. transport, trailer manufacturing or experience in an industry dealing with technical or transport products
Experience of using Sage or an equivalent financial package
A basic technical understanding of trailers / tail lifts.

Workshop Operative

Employment type: Six month temporary with the option to renew depending on workload
39 hours per week Monday – Thursday 7 am – 5.15 pm and overtime as required

Currently employing over 700 people across five locations they are currently looking to recruit an ambitious, motivated and dedicated Workshop Operatives to work in their highly successful depot in Newtownabbey.

The Job
The overall purpose of the job is to build insulated and refrigerated trailers and truck bodies in accordance with company procedures and standards. The main responsibilities of this position will include:
The assembly of Trailer / Truck bodies in line with company procedures and drawings within the allocated hours
Maintaining a high quality of workmanship and attention to detail at all times
Maintaining good housekeeping and adhering to the company’s health and safety policies
Achieving and maintaining proficiency in all aspects of coach/ body building as per Gray & Adams procedures.

The Person

Essential Criteria:
The successful applicant must:
Have a minimum 3 years’ experience of the commercial vehicle industry, particularly in body building, panel assembly, mechanical fixings, body building glues and adhesives or similar
Have at least one year’s experience of using a range of hand and air tools (e.g. rivet, mono bolt guns)
Possess basic knowledge of the principles of Health & Safety at Work
Able to accurately interpret basic engineering drawings
Be able to work to deadlines to complete tasks on time
Be able to work cooperatively in a team environment
Be able to contribute to improving productivity
Have a driving license
Be available to work a reasonable amount of overtime.

Desirable Criteria:
Preference may be given to those applicants who:
Are time served / have a City & Guilds Craft Certificate / completed NVQ 3 in Engineering or Coach Building / completed a Modern Apprenticeship
Crane Operator License
Forklift License
Have completed First Aid Training.
Experience of working in a temperature-controlled environment.
