Refurbishments carried out by Gray & Adams are not restricted to Gray & Adams manufactured products, we can refurbish any make or type of trailer / body if required.
Gray & Adams trailers and bodies regularly undergo refurbishment and Gray & Adams bodies continually out-live the chassis and so are often remounted onto a second or third chassis for extended life. This goes a long way in proving the quality, strength and thermal efficiency of the Gray & Adams product and is obviously cost-effective in comparison to renewing the vehicle entirely.
There is no reason why a Gray & Adams body that has been properly maintained from new cannot have a 10-15 year life. Once a body has been refurbished, including painting, it can look and perform every bit as well as a new one. Refurbishments can range from a minor make-over to a complete bodywork overhaul. In addition, we can offer options for customers with a more restrictive budget when refurbishing. For example, the replacement of sideguards and mudguards would be at the customer’s discretion. Although these are not a particular hazard to the safety or efficiency of the body if damaged or worn, they are more often replaced in a refurbishment for aesthetic reasons. In some cases, certain parts can often be cleaned up or refurbished instead of being replaced with new parts and this will be offered where possible to keep costs down.
The aim of any Gray & Adams refurbishment is to get at least a further five years life out of the body. Making a decision to refurbish rather than renew is therefore largely cost-based. However, an increase in environmental concerns has led certain companies to seek maximum longevity from their fleet, Gray & Adams can help achieve these desires by offering full refurbishment services capable of increasing lifespan by a further five years.
