Job Specification – Service Workshop Operative.

Gray & Adams (Ireland) Ltd is currently seeking Service Workshop Operatives to join its Newtownabbey team.  The overall purpose of the job is to service and maintain refrigerated trailers and bodies in accordance with company standards and procedures.  This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are seeking to establish their career within a market leading, progressive company.

Key Job Requirements :

  • Undertake servicing and maintenance work on commercial trailers and tail-lifts in accordance with company standards and procedures.
  • Delivering high quality workmanship with attention to detail.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping and adhering to company Health and Safety policies.
  • Achieving and maintaining proficiency in all aspects of trailer and tail lift and servicing as per company procedures.

 

Essential Skills:

The successful applicant must:

  • Mechanically knowledgeable and proficient in hands-on working.
  • Ability to complete work within required deadlines and allocated hours.
  • Possess the basic knowledge of the principles of Health & Safety within a working environment.
  • Prepared to work overtime and flexible hours when required.
  • Willing to learn different skills and undertake training as required.
  • Have a driving license.

 

Desirable Skills:

Preference may be given to those applicants who have:

  • City & Guilds Craft Certificate / completed NVQ 3 in Engineering.
  • Manufacturer certificate to service commercial vehicle / trailer suspensions.
  • Knowledge of commercial trailers / tail-lifts.
