A lifetime of value: Gray & Adams celebrates 45 years of service as Bob Stephen retires

Testament to the way the company is run, family business Gray & Adams has several employees who have served with the business for a great many years. The Fraserburgh-headquartered manufacturer, specialising in bespoke refrigerated trailers and vehicles, has had worldwide success which has been built on people excellence, staff commitment and high-quality work.

One of these long-serving staff, Bob Stephen, has worked as a panel beater in the car shop at Fraserburgh for almost 45 years, joining the business in 1977 and working in the same department as a young Peter Gray, now Joint Managing Director.

Having had a long and successful career with Gray & Adams, Bob now turns his attention to matters closer to home. Retiring a little earlier than planned, Bob will take on the 24-hour care required by his loving wife, Sandra, who had an accident last year and is now able to return home from hospital where she has been recovering in recent months.

As an employer with people at its core, Peter Gray explains why the business is only too happy to support Bob in his early retirement and ensure he can give his family the attention and care that is now needed.

Peter said,

“As a family business, we have maintained our focus on our people since we began in 1957 as they have ensured our success over the last 65 years. We would like to take this opportunity to share our sincere thanks with Bob Stephen for his commitment, hard work, expertise and dedication to quality over the last 45 years. Having personally worked together since his very first day, I will miss him and wish him all the very best with his retirement.”
