Delivering value for Stanton Logistics

Yorkshire based road transport and logistics business, Stanton Logistics, provide 24/7 transport services to a wide range of sectors including frozen, chilled, ambient and specialist logistics.

In their 50 strong fleet, Stanton Logistics operate a number of temperature controlled trailers and have been experiencing rapid growth in the last few years.

Chris McGinley, Managing Director of Stanton Logistics, explains,

“Gray & Adams have always been on our radar as they are the leading manufacturer of temperature controlled trailers. Their Doncaster office is very close to our headquarters in Rotherham and when the opportunity arose for us to work with them as part of our rolling stock replacement on our fleet, we were delighted to get in touch with the Gray & Adams team.

“Our replacement profile is seven years for a trailer and we were due to replace five of those – two trailers for our own fleet and three replacement trailers through our rental provider, Truck Links. We have a strong relationship with Truck Links and were able to specify that our preferred manufacturer for the order, is Gray & Adams.”

Gray & Adams then developed bespoke dual compartment twin evaporator trailers for Stanton Logistics. They feature a solid moving bulkhead plus impressed load lock to utilise the full width of the vehicle, a robust sidewall and rear end design, and closer to a ten year product life cycle, adding further value to the deal.

Following the successful delivery of the initial two Gray & Adams trailers, the Managing Director of Stanton Logistics was so impressed with the quality of the build, that he ordered two more for a new, and important contract with a well-known supermarket chain.

Speaking about the relationship, Chris McGinley said

“Working with a leading manufacturer like Gray & Adams adds value to our business and strengthens our brand. The customer service received from the team has been very professional and exactly what I would expect from the market leader in the manufacture of temperature controlled trailers.

“Having an opportunity to buy best-in-class products locally from a British company is a significant plus for us and the quality of a Gray & Adams build may allow for a ten year life-cycle, adding further value to our fleet and our business.”
