27 Apr Gray & Adams’ Demonstrator Trailer Becomes First to Feature Carrier Transicold’s [R]eCool Pack
Gray & Adams is proud to announce that our demonstrator trailer has become the first vehicle to be retrofitted with Carrier Transicold’s innovative [R]eCool pack, supporting The Reed Boardall Group’s commitment to lower emission transport solutions.
[R]eCool is a digitally connected, optimised battery system incorporating Lynx Fleet telematics that converts diesel trailer TRUs into fully electric reefers, reducing operational costs, emissions and noise.
The system delivers extended all-electric run times while retaining automatic diesel engine backup, ensuring total product protection. Trailers remain fully operational across any depot network, route, weather or traffic conditions, removing concerns over battery charge or cooling performance. Ultraefficient power electronics from Carrier’s sister company Addvolt allow a full battery recharge in just over two hours using a standard 32amp TRU standby socket, minimising dwell time and avoiding complex infrastructure. Installation is straightforward, requiring no additional power sources, and [R]eCool can be transferred between trailers as needed.
This flexibility allows operators to see immediate benefits on new trailers, extend the life of older TRUs, and redeploy [R]eCool on new equipment as fleets are upgraded.
