11 Dec Gray & Adams (Doncaster) joins Mission Christmas for Hallam FM
With Christmas just around the corner, the team at Gray & Adams (Doncaster) are donating to Hallam FM’s ‘Mission Christmas’ – a yearly campaign to provide gifts for children at Christmas.
2020 has changed everything. As families unexpectedly face poverty, more and more children could be waking up on Christmas Day without anything under the tree. With Covid-19 directly affecting unemployment levels and household incomes, pushing many more families into poverty this winter, Christmas could be a luxury that they simply can’t afford. Mission Christmas is in place to ensure that every child receives a gift from Santa on Christmas Day.
Hallam FM is a local radio station owned and operated by Bauer as part of the Hits Radio network, broadcasting to South Yorkshire. As a business with a strong community focus, Gray & Adams’ Doncaster team were delighted to be able to support the charity campaign and give back to the community in which they live and work.
Kim Bell, Sales Administrator and Gray & Adams (Doncaster) said,
“Throughout the year, Gray & Adams Doncaster allows staff to take part in dress down Friday for a donation of 50p each, every week. At the end of the year, and with further collection boxes around the workshops and office, we collected almost £600. In such a challenging year, we wanted to give back to our local community and so we used the money to purchase as many toys as we could, donating them to Mission Christmas for Hallam FM. It’s a really worthy cause and we’re proud to be able to do something to make Christmas a little bit more special for those who need it most, giving them something to look forward to on Christmas day.”
Andrew Brown, Sales Director at Gray & Adams (Doncaster) added,
“People can often be quick to judge the integrity of young people today, but with the work that has gone into this project, Kim and Scott have shown great maturity and a real dedication to giving back to our local community. I am very proud of both of them for their commitment to social responsibility and glad that Gray & Adams is able to support such a worthy local cause.”
If you’d like to donate, donations can be made online, or you can donate a new and unwrapped gift at drop-off points across South Yorkshire.
